Euro NCAP has released new Pedestrian Test and Assessment Protocols that will go in effect in 2013. These protocols prescribe how, as of 2013, new vehicles will be tested and rated using a grid method for the bonnet. This marks another important step forwards to incorporate CAE into Euro NCAP's assessment scheme. The current protocols are used for all vehicle tests in 2012 up to and including the November release. For cars to be released in February 2013, the new protocols will be applied.
The following table lists the updated protocols and provides direct links:
| Protocol | Version |
| Euro NCAP Assessment Protocol – PP | 6.0 |
| Pedestrian Test Protocol | 6.0 |
All changes to the pedestrian test procedures will be discussed and demonstrated at the PraxisConference Pedestrian Protection on 20.-21. June 2012 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. Reserve your seat now!Read more: carhs.de/pkf
